Drive snapshot restoring question

    hi

    just a quick question for anyone who try it.
    if i restore a DS image from external HD connect to usb2 with a boot cd , does the image restoring be slow as hell coz no actually windows usb2 drivers loaded? :doubt:

    DemonEye, if your BOOT CD has no USB drivers, it won't load at all. If it has no USB3 drivers, it should load at USB2 speeds... 25-30mB/s.

    it has , but i test it only against making image (writing not reading) and it was FAR more slow than make it withing windows....so i figure it may also slow in reading (restoring)...o_O

    I didn't explore it at the time i bought a new system this January but with windows 8 64bit and all that, the hardware on my new set didn't include USB 3.0, so like De i have to rely on slowz USB 2.0 to transfer backups data into and out of external storage.

    what a bummer.

    that was my concern , that using Boot cd for usb HD will end up slow restore...but i think that the cost of safe backup if your installed hd is dead :)
