ah its nice that they dont force the dr web antispam in the title of outlook or outlook express.
i know that isp's always change those tags.
my internet explorer used to say "internet explorer provided by bt yahoo"
so i used spybot ages ago in advanced mode to change it.

it will automatically grab the beta key, but you can delete this from dr.web folder and reboot, and it should use your normal key :)

dr.web does nothing at all to outlook express,

it will only tag your emails in the subject with whatever you choose it to be.

the filter you create in outlook will notice your tag and move the email to wherever you want it to go.

i wonder whats next in dr.web betas :)
i know the LIVECD is very much due,i was told 10 days from the guy working on it, 11 days ago, so its running a bit late but im sure its due aswell, cant wait... all these betas and updates is brilliant

Great, I'm rather fond of my key. So I just create a spam folder in Outlook Express and tag DrWEB to it? I was almost ready to install Thunderbird for it's filtering but it is slower and heavier to run than Outlook...:)

yeah, create a folder... see my screenshot above, i called my Dr.Web Spam and goto tools> message filter> mail and set it up in there, just be sure to input the same tag you put in spidermail > spam settings > advanced

it is easy, just hard to explain lol

let us know how you go on :)

One final question, can I install this via repair setting so I don't have to redo all my settings and will this install all the nifty new features? o_O. Actually I'm just trying to get my posts count up like Bubba and Mele have etc...:thumb:

lol, yes i think repair will work it.

my spam has greyed out again as i said at the beginning... i think it might be because i have deleted the beta key and am using my licence, dont know, so i will continue to use the beta test licence for now. :D

    ------------------
it should be said that no spam product is perfect, far from it especially as its still beta.

wrongly tagged spam - forward email to vrnonspam@drweb.com
missed spam - forward email to vrspam@drweb.com

and a nice test to see if you have it set up right, send yourself an email with:

    XJS*C4JDBQADN1.NSBN3*2IDNEN*GTUBE-STANDARD-ANTI-UBE-TEST-EMAIL*C.34X

dr.web should notice it as spam and move it automatically, if you have it set up correctly.

I think if you re-download it again Chris and just leave it checked without rules, it will work.

Is this Spam program trainable like the Bayesian setup Thunderbird has or does it just sling spam in the folder I have set up?...o_O :)

Nevermind, I re-read DrWEB's announcement email and found the answer right there...o_O  :D

The Vade Retro technology consists of thousands of rules applied to each message you receive.
The nature of the message is derived from the partial scores coresponding to each rule. If the resulting value is above the "spammicity threshold", the message is thought to be unwanted and treated as such.

and... send false positives to the emails in my above post, so they can update it even more.

its working great with the bat email, im glad as this is my favourite email client.

you dont have to just sling it in the folder you set up, if you check your filter you created in the program, just change it to delete if you like, so you will never see the email, its up to you. :D

hows it working anyway? do you have it set up to work yet.....

Man you were posting while I was responding to my own message. I am just getting it up and running now so the experience of despamming should come soon. By "the filter I created in the program" do you mean in Outlook Express?

But these false positives even in the beta, suck. They have a lot of work in this area brfore I am sold. Spam protection should be second fiddle when it comes to the false positives. I am not reformatting again because of this issue.

ok, been testing this beta, all is working great actually.

spam really is working, see here:

    http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/th.63a4d3ed98.jpg

the only spam email from the screenshot that i 'had to add' was the pixmania or whatever its called as ive had 2 from them and none were picked up, but the blacklist works, as you can see... it now spams it.

    so far, sooo good.
