I have just started using FireFox for my internet service and some where along the line I have done something wrong. When I click on the FoxFire icon to go to the web I get a instant full page and then another page will open and it is a smaller page (3/4), but after a brief time it will become full page in size. It does not really hurt anything, it is a pain. Any suggestions?

Thanks as always for all advice you may send,

    Dave

This is a very good and practical advice. You will lose more time by tracking the issue than by reinstalling Foxfire ;) However, you'll never know what to do if that thing happens again. So it really depends on whether you want to quickly fix an issue or to learn something new.

BTW, I can't help with Firefox settings and extra windows/tabs appearing, as I am not very familiar with FF. But on the first glance that looks to me like some spyware/nagware popup may be appearing when you start Firefox.
twodogs44, do you have any AntiSpyware scanner installed? If so, do a scan. If not, get SUPERAntiSpyware (free home version, the blue one) and do a scan. Preferably report back :)

    Cheers.

When uninstalling Firefox, also remember to delete its profile.

As much as I hate saying this, I found the cause of the double page on entering the internet. Some time ago every time I open a new page on the net it would come minimized and I had to change everyone of them each and every time I would visit that page. I was told to find and download a program tittled "Autosizer" and it worked. The last time I had used it I forgot to close it and it was causing my problems with the Doubles.

    Thanks to one and all,

    Twodogs
