Does India's budget tablet computer work?

    BBC News South Asia

I dunno, it looks pretty good for about 40 quid (£39.21p) ~ 20 quid to students (£20.14p).

But it's a rigged price. In all probability, most "average" Indians won't ever see it in stores at anywhere near that price :D

You're probably right. I don't know how much it would actually be marketed at in the UK when you factor in VAT inter alios.

see this tablet is for a very specific purpose in mind........which is for rural education in India.....for students who cannot afford a PC or galaxy tab for their everyday purpose...

we must not see this as an alternative to popular tablets from apple or BB or samsung......

$62 is still a great deal. Shouldn't that be available for everyone?

The person who wrote the article clearly knows little about Android tablets - in particular low end ones.

The article expresses surprise about it having USB ports, when they are usually standard for Android tablets. The author doesn't know that is commonplace for low end tablets to not have access to the Google Market. However it won't take long for custom firmware with Market access to appear.
