Does Image or clone use VSS/VSC technology?

From everything I find on the MSKB, dyanamic backup/copy software needs to use Volume Shadow Copies or the copies might not work.

We use [I'm very sorry to say!] some FoxPro applications that are so touchy they recommend closing all files and applications to even attempt a copy.

MS says VSS/VSC will resolve this.

Does Acronis use it or something similar in the Clone phase? [I suspect the Image phase does not need it, but could be wrong]

 

If you haven't already done so, have a read of this <Acronis Technical Article>. It's a good explanation of how True Image manages to carry out "live" imaging.
