Wow... for somebody who is not careful or familiar... you could end up with a really old software download.

I think I liked Giant even better than Ewido.

    ...well... maybe not.

Lol. Oh my!!! So they were other PSYCHOs Addicts like me :argh: (No offence)

    * Installing every new antispyware program just because it's new.
    * Pretty much downloading the entire antispyware/security software section on download.com
    * Whenever I come across a friend's comp. that is infected, use Kitchen Soup method of spyware sweep -
"Ok guys (4+ trial programs) jump in there, do your thing, the first one to find & fix the problem I leave till the expiration date, the rest go bye-bye".

Actually, I do recall I didn't always install all the downloaded programs, there would be one or two I'd save for later.
Which I would then use on my friend's comp as a test platform when something was up with it.

Man that takes me back! I remember that was one of my first anti-spyware programs along with Ad-aware and Spybot.

The problem with Pest Patrol was:
^This. Yep, when I first used it I thought "wow, look at all the spyware I had!". Pest Patrol taught me what a false positive was, much in the way KaZaA taught me what actual spyware was like.

Spybot Search & Destroy has remained active over the years, but I don't know very many people that still use it. I liked it back in the day. I have not tried it in a while. Here is their website http://www.safer-networking.org/
