They don't make it easy to set up on Ubuntu.

It also runs with root at one point so apparmor isn't great for it. It's fine for restricting file access though, which gets restricted a ton.

I just "installed" OpenDNS (well, changed my router dns ip's). But i did install CryptDNS and OpenDNS updater (since my ISP assigned a dynamic IP to me)
I flushed dns cache and cleaned my browser cache.

I'm from The Netherlands (Holland), but the internet traffic seems fast enough, don't notice any slowdowns as of yet. But I'm just starting to use opendns, cryptdns. So I'm not really in a position to be able to tell that it works absolutely fast. But till now it does very well. Also I've been using this after reading some comments about OpenDNS by various people on wilders security forum. The cryptdns was very appealing to me. so far, so good.

    DNSCrypt doesn't work here.... :(
    Somehow it messes my connection.
When i reboot after install works fine, and then just blocks my internet for no reason.

    Is it encrypted like DNSCrypt?
I never liked Norton much..... so i'm a bit sceptic.

No DNSCrypt is software technology peculiar to OpenDNS. NortonDNS is fast and safe, nothing to do with their AV (bloating etc...) but I moved to OpenDNS. About the same.

DNSCrypt is made to be used with any DNS service, but so far only OpenDNS have implemented support for it.

    Same here.

I am a high risk surfer, and I rarely get Norton DNS to pop, much less give me FP's.
