The window alerting to a change in the search criteria for Internet Explorer continuously pops up every 30 seconds. It's driving me bonkers. Attempt to disable Spywareblaster or to uninstall don't seem to work. anyone got a solution, short of scrubbing my hard drive?

Is it an error or is it alerting you to a browser hijacking attempt?

SpywareBlaster doesn't alert on anything. It's a passive program. Are you perhaps talking about Javacool's SpywareGuard application? It has a browser hijack protection which does alert like you describe. If you have SpywareGuard installed, you should see a red SG icon in the systray (next to the clock).

You can disable SG's browser hijack protection, however, the alerting is not the cause of a problem - it is a warning that some spyware is on your system and trying to hijack it somewhere. Basically, SG is doing its job, and you really need to determine just what spyware is trying to hijack you. Not disable the program that is warning you about it.
