I have Windows 7 with DirectX 11. Yesterday I installed a game from way back when and it asked to install DirectX 8. Thinking that this would make it more compatible, I installed it. Turns out my graphics card is too new, so I uninstalled the game. My question is since I installed DirectX 8, what happened to my DirectX 11 if anything?

Click Start> Run> dxdiag and look at the info and you can run the Diagnostics also!

It says DirectX 11. So installing the older version didn't do anything? o_O
