    Hi,
    i'm looking for demo-rootkits but searching google leads to nothing / no downloads to trust. I've read of a demo called "hackerdefender".

    Thanks for any links / downloads.

    i apologize for any misunderstanding. But may i just ask if there are any demo/test-rootkits and what there names are, that i can find them by myself anywhere ?

    Hi gambla,

    If you want to learn about rootkits, and to install one on your system i highly recommend Rootkits: Subverting the Windows Kernel by Greg Hoglund.

    This has working code, and virtually all the information you could want concerning rootkits, detecting them and protecting your system against them.
