    From Ilya:

    Hi everybody!

New version's beta is just out: -www.softsphere.com/files/DefenseWall_Personal_Firewall_v3_21.exe

    1. Now it's possible to update FireFox, uTorrent and ICQ out of box, without need to run them as trusted first.
    2. Windows 8 Mail Metro is set as untrusted by default.
    3. Minor internal improvements.

    AFAIK 32-bit only.

The plans are there if I remembered correctly. Search around and you'll find links. If anything, I'm guessing that Ilya would be the first to jump and shout out loud when 64-bit DW happens.

Dang. I thought with a new GUI for Malwarebytes, then I saw DefenseWall beta, that a 64-bit DefenseWall and all our security fantasies would come true before the 21st...

DW is a great app! You will see that DW is of 64 bit when its version become 4.xx. I hope it will happen. AFAIK Ilya wants DW 64 bit to be of the same bulletproof security as DW 32 bit, not the less.

Hopefully, very hopefully... I hope to be able to install it on 64-bit. Though I haven't heard any positive news about it yet. :'(

He-he, me too would like to use free version of DW, but Ilya said in this respect that he can't afford to make it free and he won't do some constricted version as no sense in it.

You got it wrong ,not the cost of defensewall. The cost to delevolep the 64 version ,the cost of all the people and testing . Would cost the owner alot of hard front cash. This is one of the hold ups he has, I to would love a 64 version .....:D Money talks....

i read a post from the developer on the bleeping computer forum and it seems a 64-bit version is quite unlikely due to the limitations imposed by patchguard.
I must stress this was quite an old post and things may have changed but at that moment in time he was not very positive about it so time will tell.

It is that good. I can't recall ever seeing any malware pass it. I'm not normally a fan of You Tube reviews but there's one where 150 nasties are launched and DW stops them all. It also has an unblemished record on the MRG flash tests, if I recall correctly.

There are three certainties in this world: death; taxes; and any DefenseWall thread turning into a 64-bit yearn-fest.

Yep! It will be great when DW enters 64 bit realm. A very decent competitor to all other security apps. It raises the plank of quality.
