I just happened to be on this www looking at other stuff, when i was Very surprised to see this

Yup, it ain't science fiction after all The recent BadBios controversy, where "supposedly" malware had infected the bios via above audible sound, was finally deemed to have been an error in diagnosis. But this is the REAL DEAL. Right now it's designed for "seemingly" innocent things, but i see a Very real danger in it being abused to do Nasty things.

More and more people today, if they are going somewhere, take their cell phone with them. The fact is that at live events you have to look hard for someone who has not a cell phone.
Because they’re so massively used during a live event, it is interesting to also participate with these devices. You can think of sending data to the mobile phones, such as information, advertisements, song info, contest, hyperlinks, text (real-time), etc..
But also remotely "trigger" an event on the mobile phone itself, like, a light show (let the colors change of the mobile screen), send it to a particular website, etc..

Because people use massively their mobile phones during a live event WiFi, Internet and BlueTooth connections are often overloaded or not responding.

But how do you get the information to the user? The solution: Sending data through (inaudible) sound!

At the moment there are two types of codecs that are able to send data through sound, namely the SA UltraCode codec and the Sonic Notify codec.
