    Hi phalanaxus,

    Thank you for your answer.

I corrected reports thanks to your comment :)

Answer: no heuristics or behavioral analysis.

Engines show now status for file like:

    1) Clean = classification: Safe
    2) Malware = classification: Unsafe
    3) Suspicious = classification: Suspicious
    4) Unknown = classification: Unknown

One thing i´d like to notice is that Engine 1 is most powerful and
may report all these i mentioned. 2nd and 3rd one will show only
Clean (if no detection) and Malware (if detected).

New version coming soon and in new version will be fixed many bugs reported by Wilders Security forum members.

    Best regards,
    Kardo Kristal

Jiangmin always detects your app as being malicious... Trojan/Generic.qexi :argh:

There hasn't been a single time they didn't detect it. I think they're trying to get into Guiness Book of Records. :D

    Hi,

It is quite funny indeed :D and of course FP by Jiangmin.

BTW - Engine 4 is based on CRDF database ;)

A quick suggestion; instead of "no new update", "Your product is currently up to date" would look nicer.

Re: Kristal Security 2012 [0.0.1.x Beta]

What would think of having a Protection Level: Custom option?

    Low = monitors Program Files
    High = monitors any directory
Custom = monitors only user specified directory(ies)

For instance, I may want to have KAD only analyse the contents of my downloads folder or some sub-folder, where I place certain download files, but not Program Files or any other directory.

So, I'm thinking that, if you do consider it a nice option to have the Custom protection level, maybe where it says Protection Level: LOW/HIGH/CUSTOM (Set to Low/High/Custom) we'd only have Protection Level: LOW/HIGH/CUSTOM.

We'd change the different levels in Settings, where there would be a section for Protection Level and the options Low, High or Custom. In Custom, we'd have a search form where we'd be able to point the directory or directories to be monitored.

You'd have to enlarge the Settings window a bit, though.

    What do you think?

    -edit-

By the way, in the About, you may want to change Kristal Security 2011 to 2012... ;)

    -edit 2-

The Enlarge option for the Activity monitor really came in hand. This way we can have the separate window opened and minimized to the task bar, while having KAD itself minimized to the notification area. :D

The exception error problem has gone :), which occurred with v0.0.0.2 and v0.0.0.3 ...

However, I now have 2 tray icons. This also, happened with v0.0.0.3.

Re: Kristal Security 2012 [0.0.1.x Beta]

    Hi jmonge,

    Thank you for your interest.

Kristal Security, Kristal Advance Detector, Kristal Safe Way and Kristal Theft Protect should work on 64-bit systems. One thing i know is that
Auto-Start option is not working properly because of differences between 32-bit and 64-bit registry system. This will be fixed in new version.

Briefly: It should work without problems (except auto-start up on windows logon).

Sorry, for this time no, maybe in newer versions. For protection i recommend to use Kristal Advance Detector and Kristal Safe Way because Kristal Advance Detector is based on 4 KSOnline Engines and is very light on your system: RAM usage is about 1-5 megs (should stay on 2 megs).

You can get Kristal Advance Detector 2012 0.0.0.4 Beta from these links:

    Installer: -http://dl.dropbox.com/u/47450407/Kristal%20Advance%20Detector%202012%20-%20Public/Kristal%20Advance%20Detector%20installer.exe-

Re: Kristal Security 2012 [0.0.1.x Beta]

I found something confusing... to me... :D

I have attached two images. One image is worth a thousand words, right? ;) The first one is what I get when I open Blacklist/Whitelist. The second one, I actually found it's like that because I accidentally enlarged the window. What exactly are those three forms for? One is where I see my account name, the other two are empty, as you can see. I wrote text and also copied a file path to one of those two other entries, and pressed Enter, but nothing happened.

    Hi m00nbl00d,

Hmm, that is interesting, how i missed that.

Anyway this kind of bug will be fixed. These fields stores some
temporary information to add and remove files to/from Blacklist/whitelist.

Big thanks for this report ;) , will be fixed asap.

    Regards,
    Kardo

Re: Kristal Security 2012 [0.0.1.x Beta]

    You're welcome. :)

By the way, I was thinking it would be nice if one could just double-click the notification area icon to open KAD, instead of having to right-click it and hit Show.
Show is OK and still should remain available, for when the user happens to right-click the icon to either Enable/Disable protection and decides to open KAD.

Also, when I right-click the notification area icon, I notice that the context menu looks different from the other icons I got.

I'm attaching two images. One is about KAD's tray bar icon context menu and the other belongs to PeerBlock. As you can see they differ; PeerBlock is using Windows 7 native look, if I can call it that. KAD is not.

It's not that important, I know, but it kind of feels odd to right-click PeerBlock and others, and see they all use that same scheme, while yours kind of seems like the black sheep. :D

I also may have found two bugs. When I click Check for Updates, if I block Internet connection, then I see a .Net Framwork error window saying that it couldn't resolve the remote name.

The other, perhaps a GUI bug?, is that without being able to connect to the Internet, KAD still shows KSOnline: Connected. -edit: Forget this one. It was a mistake on my side. -end of edit -

The Check for Updates Net Framework error also happens when no connection available, as well. I forgot to mention it.

    Hi everyone,

We exceeded dropbox hosting daily traffic limit 10GB/Day and we changed our
download hosting to MediaFire to prevent this problem in future.

Our program(s) are very small, about 2 megs but still exceeded 10gb daily traffic.... what a big amount of downloads today :D

Anyway here is new link for Kristal Advance Detector download:

    New download link: -http://www.mediafire.com/?xcch3n31jl9fua6

Information: New Beta version of KAD is coming very soon with a lot of new features, fixes and improvements ;)

NOTE: Other programs download links will be fixed too ASAP.

    Regards,
    Kardo
