Creating desktop shortcuts to web pages in Firefox

    In Internet Explorer you can drag the icon in the left-hand side of the URL bar to the desktop and it creates a shortcut to that web page. You can do the same thing in Firefox except in FF it just creates a FF document icon, but in IE it creates a graphic icon that matches the one dragged to the desktop. Does anyone know why or how IE does this but FF doesn't? I've tried on XP, Vista and 7.
