Ok, I literally got this product like an hour ago and I can not figure out how to create a recovery disk. So I have looked in the help options and followed the steps from clicking the Backup options but the it gets to a point where it is makeing some kind of file on my copmuter to put the backup in but what I wanted was to make the backup on my dvds. Sorry if this is an annoying question but thank you for all the help.

Perhaps my guides can help. Check line 2 of my signature below.

    Creating a backup

The Rescue CD (a.k.a. "recovery cd") can be created after TrueImage is installed.
Open TrueImage and select Tools/Create Bootable Rescue CD and follow the instructions. A bootable flashdrive can also be created to use instead of the bootable CD.

Generally speaking all forum members recommended:
    1. User should create a TI Rescue CD as one of their first functions when TrueImage is first installed.

    2. Next is to perform some backups and restores (testing) using the Rescue CD so the user knows the CD will function correctly when a critical need occurs. (All too often the need occurs and the user has never created or tested their Rescue CD.)

    3. All backup image archives should be validated until you are comfortable that the backups are problem free.
Again, generally speaking, many of us discourage the practice of burning a backup direct to CD or DVD. There is too much disc swapping when a restore is needed and all to often, there is problems on the restore. We find that using an external drive or another internal drive more dependable than burning direct to CD/DVD. As supplemental backup coverage, creating a backup on another drive and then copying the backup files to a CD or DVD as a data disc is better than trying to burn direct. Using the backup option (archive splitting), the user can control the file size to fit the disc. An archive splitting size of 1492MB works well in fitting 3 files per DVD. When needing to restore from a DVD backup set, it is best to copy all the DVD's into a folder on another hard drive before performing the restore.

    Hello agaray,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

Please also notice that you can find detailed instruction on how to use Acronis True Image 11 Home in the respective User's Guide. Particularly, chapter 11 "Creating bootable media" describes how to create Acronis Bootable Rescue Media. The option to make a CD/DVD bootable when backing up to it is described in chapter 5 "Creating backup archives", paragraph 5.3.8 "Media components".

    Thank you.
