I am trying to copy xp disk which i have in an old laptop to a larger hardfile(250gb)
After the copy, the new disk boots but it keeps getting the blue screen of death.

    The original hardfile works perfectly.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem.

Assuming you are replacing an old hard drive in your laptop with a new one, are you sure you got the right type? For instance my wife's laptop takes an ATA-6 (PATA) but my laptop takes a SATA.

I'm not perfectly clear what you mean by "hardfile", but I tried.

Another thing that can cause problems is if the laptop uses non-standard drive geometry. In those cases, you must have the destination drive installed in the laptop when it is partitioned, restored to or copied to.
