    Hello,
    What he showed was a demonstration of a completely fresh XP install, so it is rather not demonstrating the real thing.
    But really no different than building your own machine. What more, building your own machine - again - is an important educational step. You cut on the old, built-up errors over time, change things that you might wish had never been done, etc.
