Something strange happened, and I hope to get some advice or insight on this. Using our Windows computer, my daughter went on YouTube to watch Reese Witherspoon on Ellen Degeneres. A minute later we received an email (popmail) with Reese Witherspoon and Ellen Degeneres in the subject heading concerning the Reese Witherspoon Diet. There was a link in the body of this email which proved to be clean on VirusTotal.

I can't believe YouTube/Google would be in the spam business. I first thought it's malware, but I haven't heard of malware doing that. My daughter thought maybe the YouTube URL was caught by a third-party cookie and sent somewhere that has both my IP and email o_O

I am interested in any thoughts on this.
