    Howdy,

I have Agent running on a remote system, and I understand how I can connect to that system, and create an image of the local system to be stored on the remote system but...

I don't understand the functional difference between doing all that and simply creating an image and using the browser, storing the image on the remote box.

Is there a difference of substance between these two approaches?

    Thanks,
    Kenneth

    Hello Kenneth,

Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

The difference is that Acronis True Image Agent allows you to create images of the remote computer. For example, if you are the LAN administrator you may install Acronis True Image Agents to the remote computers and create images of them.

    Thank you.

    Hi Ilya,

I thank you for your response, but am still missing something...

Suppose I run TI on system "A" and create an image of a partition on system "A" . TI asks me where I want to put that image, and I put it in a folder on system "B."

Can I not do all that without Agent?

If I am correct that I can do it without Agent, what functional difference would there be if I do it with Agent?

    Sicnere thanks,
    Kenneth

    Hello Kenneth,

Yes, you may perform this particular operation without Acronis True Image Agent installed. In this case there will be no difference between the two methods you described.

The main purpose of Acronis True Image Agent is to give you the ability to install the components and to create images of the remote copmuters.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask them.

    Thank you.
