Currently I keep getting this from the Program Updater:
So I will go to the Site and try to update manually. ;)

Do you get the message "Systems Initialized [39398 references - 16497 primaries/10865 traces/12036 variants/other]" when TDS-3 starts up? If so, you have the current Radius Update. If not, try this URL for latest Radius Update:

    http://www.diamondcs.com.au/tds/radius.td3

Just save it and copy/paste to TDS directory while TDS is not running, choosing YES to overwriting the radius.td3 file already there :).

    Regards,
    Jade.

    Hi,

    A little background info :

Registered users can use the Update-option in TDS-3 (trial users cannot use it; they have to download/install manually definitions-updates).
Registered users can ofcourse also manually download/install updates.

So now further for registered users:

There are several servers on which the updates are put by DiamondCS.
TDS-3 uses a file called update.cfg (placed in your TDS-3 directory).
You can open that file with Notepad to have a look at it.
You will see that that file lists some servers to which TDS-3 connects to get an update.
TDS-3 will first try the first server in that list.
That file update.cfg is regularly updated by DCS.
If you like you can get a new one here :
    http://tds.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=update

    Quote:
Important: The Automatic Update program (update.exe) requires an up-to-date server list (update.cfg) in order to download the database. This file can be downloaded here (Right-click | Save Target As...). Please save the file to your TDS directory, overwriting the existing update.cfg file. Remember to ensure that the filename is update.cfg, and not update.cfg.txt or anything else.
    - end quote -

Sometimes there is a little problem for a short while with one of the servers.
DCS is doing their very best to prevent this.
Nevertheless these kind of things can happen.

What to do in such a case:
Just go to one of the servers and download/install manually the updates.
If one server does not work right at that moment or does not have the latest definitions, please just go to another server.

Always check whether your numbers are the same as posted by Gavin in the Update-forum-section.

I hope this helps a little bit ;)
Please feel free to ask questions about it in case you might have a problem.

    Cheers, Jan.

    A little bit more :

In case you have manually downloaded/installed new definitions, you have to restart TDS-3.
You can do two things for example :
1- Shutdown TDS-3 and restart it, or :
    2- In TDS-3 go to : TDS > Reload .

    Another side-note :
(Something I have done myself, but I have done that for almost all the TDS-3 files).
You might like to add the following TDS-3 files to your file crcfiles.txt :
    %TDSDIR%\Radius.TD3
    %TDSDIR%\radius.bak
    %TDSDIR%\DCSmutex.dll
    %TDSDIR%\advscan.dll

The CRC32-test of TDS-3 will alert you then, if you run it, whether those files are changed.
Radius.TD3 and radius.bak should be changed after you have done a successful definitions update through the Update-option in TDS-3.
DCSmutex.dll is on average updated once a week.
advscan.dll is on average updated once in some months.
I myself always run manually a CRC32-test in TDS-3 after having done an update, just to see what has been changed ;)
