computer help needed

hey guys,

im having a big problem with my external hardrive. the other night(or very early in the morning) i was reformatting my PC and i was very groggy at that so it was probably not a good idea. but instead of deleting the partition on my PC that i wanted to reformat, i deleted the partition on my external. so now i cant seem to access the external, even though i plugged it in, and the plug and play kicked in and said the device was working properly. when i go under my computer, the icon for the external doesnt show up any thoughts?

 

It is not listing it under "My Computer" because it doesn't recognize the file format.

IF your pc is WinNT or newer:
Right-Click "My computer" and go to "manage"
Under "Storage" on the left side, click "Disk Management"
You should see your drives and their file format on the right side
If you see the external drive listed there, right click it and format it the way you want.

If youre formatting and you have Win2k or better I say you format using NTFS as it is better...almost impossible to have file errors.
