    Thank you for the update!

Leveraging the topic, someone would know tell me if the Defense + offers the same level of protection of x86 systems on x64 systems?

I don't know if Defense+ uses any kernel modifications to protect the user.

One of the recent updates has killed compatibility with Digsby and Skype when I sandbox them.

    Hi

A new Build is out COMODO Internet Security 5.5.195786.1383

We have changed the build number from 1382 to 1383.

What does this mean and why?

During the 2 stage update, some client computers received inconsistent executables with the update. Specifically, inspect.sys(WHQL certified version) has been received by some clients and this version was the version associated with the ARP protection and internet connection issues.

So if you get another update notification, you might get this file replaced as well as cfpver.dat file. For some of you, it will be only cfpver.dat which is simply the version information file while for some of you it will be 2 files.

    Sorry for the inconvenience,
    Egemen

Did a clean install. No problems. Very surprised at how few pop ups. Great job Comodo team!

Would love a 6.0 beta. Apparently they're doing a lot more to the sandboxing to make it more comprehensive.

edit: And my biggest problem with Comodo sandboxing is how little customization there is.

Me either. If it could let you have actual options for the sandbox instead of just presets it would be wonderful.

That would make an already good product even better. Any idea when the beta is planned?

No idea unfortunately. I believe in April they had an April Fools about Comodo 6 beta testing and at the end they were like "Yeah not for a few months at least."

    So, who knows really.

It's still at an okay pace, too many updates too quickly will annoy people and cause more bugs.

I just hope it doesn't become influenced by TrojanHunter Cloud.

What other projects? Most other software by them seem to be dead one after another.

Yes, I agree but sometimes I am afraid if this is sign of some thing sinister going to happen in future.

I got to know from their forums, right now valkyrie project has taken priority over many including DACS:)

Lets end the discussion over here regarding off topic posts;)

COMODO Internet Security 5.8.199581.2037 BETA Released!

That part with HIPS on x64 systems looks interesting.

    Thanks.

So far it's fine except that when I try to update it I get "file not found"
