    I have been using it a seem to be even more smooth than 5.3, the ram comsuption is lower and also the CPU while scanning new files copied to the pc.

    this update is the worse. It has slowed my network and internet connecting at start up so much that takes 30 second more for the internet to get connected instead of instead connection before. I do not like this version and have uninstall it. Its heavy and buggy I think.

    ??
    Here is working fine and faster than the previous version

    Read this post and the next ones: http://forums.comodo.com/news-annou...54-released-t72243.0.html;msg514520#msg514520

    Seems that is not a bug, it's just the config of the firewall.

    Same here. Much lighter especially when multiple applications are open.

    @taleblou,

    Might you share your settings...

    Has virtual memory been reduced at all. Last time I tried CIS it used around 600-700meg for the 64bit version.

    taleblou must have ticked the Protect ARP cache. The comodo forums are reporting this and is making a fix for it to be available ETA Monday. guest's link discusses it.

    Yeah a few folks on comodo's forum had issues when it was enabled. They are trying to narrow it down to the Protect ARP cache but aren't sure if thats the vector for the problem.

    I hope they fixed the Uninstall Problem they had. When I tried to Uninstall fromm a VM 2-3 days ago I discovered that it really did not Uninstall when using Add Remove. But the drivers must have been gone since manually deleting the folder seemed to get rid of the rest. I then tried on 3 other computers one running XP, 2 running w7-64 SP1. I restored the OS on my computer iwth an image but what is that removal utility you referred to? Thanks

    theres a lot of talk on the comodo forums of Comodo making the free version only detect and removal paid service, now these are just rumors but just felt like id let everyone know.

    i feel that is really sad and dumb kinda felt lied to.

    Detect versus remove. You mean the AV part? Hmmm... who cares to pay for their AV. There are much better free alternatives.

    I like their Defence Plus though. And if they make it paid also, there is still OA free as an alternative.

    @Broke;

    That will make them loose a lot of loyal user imho. The part of making the suite "free" is the main reason why some use the AV with the suite.

    CIS v5.4.58750.1355 is now out but the gpCode is not yet resolved:thumbd: . Other issues in relation with the ARP cache has been corrected. The 1 year CIS Pro promo link has also been updated to the latest version.

    ..thinking of using OA now but I'll try the *_CRYPT addition to the Blocked File first and see from there.

    @aigle,

    I know you said that adding that *_CRYPT isn't enough. What may be your suggestion to augment protection? Additional app or something set in my other apps. I have Avira so I am leaning on Proactive, Sandboxie paid.

    Some users are not undersatnding my point. adding *.CRYP will save them from only one specific gpcode variant. What about other varaiantsz( and they may be dozens) that will add some other words at the end of files instead of CRYPT. And what about other ransomwares? Still what about lot of file infectors( remember blackday.exe trojan)? All theses are not intercepted by Comodo Defence Plus and they don,t plan to add the interception for them. :thumbd: :thumbd:

    That is so disappointing. Comodo Defence Plus is useless against so many ransomware and file infectors and they are not going to address this issue fully. I wish I could run CFP and OA together. :)

    Anyway I am using mainly Ubuntu and even on windows my system is always clean and really I use these software just for fun and satisfaction.

    I am thinking to try SRP some time in future, may be with windows 8.
