I've never used Comodo and I don't need it right now as I have a KAV license.

But I always fix my friends' computer and install avast! Free AntiVirus for them along with the built in Windows 7 Firewall.

How is Comodo honestly? resource heavy? what is its scanning engine based on? and how is its firewall?

Most importantly, does it hamper your surfing experience and / or download speeds? What about upload speeds? Some security suites such as Bitdefender Internet Security tend to slow down the upload speed.

For me the firewall is the best part (and the only part I use). Highly configurable and I've never noticed any slowdowns.

For those already using CIS note that according to the changelog this update is only Windows 8 fixes.

CIS5 is a bit crappy in my view but CIS6 is another story. It's still in BETA though but should be released sometime this year (i hope).

The day they stop promoting Geekbuddy, is the day I will go back. They are even putting weird ad's in the uninstaller. Till then, I am in search of something just as good. Emsisoft is great with online armor free, if I can just get a key. :'(.

    Comodo, fix this!

That's not such a problem. Just uncheck GeekBuddy during installation. You'll later get 2 more popups, one on first start and i think one when CIS will detect the first malware. But you can check "Don't show again" and you won't see GeekBuddy ads ever again.

Has the issue with the Avast Web Shield been worked-out in this version?

Exactly, it's not like you get bombarded by ads for it.

    :thumb: Good find.
IMHO Comodo should have a sticky topic for these downloads on their forums.
