Version 4.2.3 release candidate (Jul, 2015): Improved support for Windows 10 Improved support for touch keyboard New command to access the PC settings directly New settings to control the color and opacity of the Windows 10 taskbar Multiple minor improvements and bugfixes They're probably busy to release the final version before this Wednesday.
is there much or anything to be gained by adding this to Win7? im only familiar with XP before and now using Win7 and it seems ok. i had Win8 betas and didnt like that style at all. Also is Classic Shell light on resources?
@Snoop3 Personally I wouldn't bother with it. I see no need to replace the Windows 7 start menu. Is it light on resources? I never checked, but I believe so.
Version 4.2.4 general release (9 Aug, 2015): Finalized support for Windows 10 - multiple bugfixes and performance improvements This is the first version to officially support Windows 10. It fixes all known crashes and compatibility issues with Windows 10.
Let me be the first to report that V4.2.4 is working perfectly on my three W10 systems! IMO, the best new feature is a shortcut to 'PC settings' to allow easy access to this W10 panel.
Version 4.2.5 general release (14 Nov, 2015): New transparency settings for skins New ability to uninstall Metro apps from the start menu Improved support for Windows 10 Improved support for the Edge browser Improved search performance
I used to use it on Windows 7 (no longer running 7). I never installed the start menu portion but it also adds features to Windows Explorer (I found the "up" button to be handy) and Internet Explorer (Status bar, text in title bar, etc). It couldn't hurt to try it but it's not a must have either.
