This is driving me crazy. Is there a way to make Chrome stop showing drop down suggestions in address bar? I have disabled showing browsing history, i have google search suggestions disabled, but:

    - If i search something, google suggests it if i try to type it again.
    - It makes suggestions based on my bookmarks. For example if i type "Wi" it offers me "wildersecurity", because it's in my bookmarks.

Is there a way to kill all this? I don't want it to suggest me anything! In Opera this was doable.

    Thanks.

    Thanks, at least i tried...

It seems that on older versions, you could add at the target: -omnibox-popup-count=1 , but now doesn't work anymore.

"No History" extension doesn't cut it either.

    Unbelievable...

    is your browser sandboxed?
i know its a silly question but it wont remember settings if sandboxed.
On a side-note comodo dragon doesnt do this.

No, i haven't installed Sandboxie for quite some time and don't use Shadow Defender either until it officially supports SSDs...

Comodo Dragon,eh? Maybe i will try it, although i feel weird about it... Currently i use SWR Iron. I 've also tried CoolNovo and does the same thing. Normal Chrome does that too.

    Thanks.

Comodo Dragon does do the same as Chrome. It will suggest from your bookmarks.

Thanks for the info. Then i will stick with Iron. I am amazed though that nor the devs nor the makers of extensions have addressed that...

I have these turned off, but this has to do only with history suggestions or google search suggestions.

Try typing something that exists in your bookmarks and see what happens.

Or, go to search and search for "Amazon" for example. Close the tab (not the browser). Now try to type Amazone again. As soon as you type "Ama", you will get suggestion for Amazone.

    Or not?

I have all settings off as well on the current build, and if I type "y" in the address bar, I get yahoo, youtube and wilderssecurity as bookmarks suggestions.
