Just curious due to your subject title...does an OEM disc not work with VMs? NewEgg has the full Windows 7 OEM at only $99. But you have to go to their "promotional page" to get that price.

Hmm... as far as I know, OEM is not the choice for VM due to MS EULA issues.

I see. Thanks! I didn't realize that throws a kink into a VM. OEM is good for one box/laptop and its not transferable, so I guess a VM sees each install as different hardware?

No, I don,t think there is any problem technically. Just a legal/ ethical issue to abide by MS EULA.

aigle, since your an "international customer" you will have to pay attention and check shipping policies. If I'm reading their site right, they require a $250 minimum order plus other fees and possible restrictions. http://www.buycheapsoftware.com/international.asp

Your best bet might be to find a store that sales software closer to home.

P.S. I'm assuming that your living in Saudi Arabia/ Pakistan.

Thanks. Yes I am living in Saudi Arabia. Actually I was planning to buy it through some friend in USA. Buying it to be get shipped here will not be a good option of course.

That's probably a good plan. I did see that buy.com had vendors selling XP Home but you would need to be careful and make sure it's the correct full version. I don't believe you want the Upgrade version.

I have ordered from buy.com a few times but can't speak for the individual vendors (they are like amazon). Buy.com is a large site so it should be safe. If you do go with them, tell your friend not to worry about "offer" they try to get to sign up with when checking out. I just ignore it every time I order from them.
