If I was looking for a free system right now, I'd get Qihoo 360 and Comodo firewall. Throw in MBAM on demand and a few other things for an entirely free setup.

You just get a message that the product can't be delivered if are outside the US, even with a digital one (Amazon).

They aren't a retailer. You're buying direct from the source! There's a huge difference.

When you buy from the source, they own their codes. They haven't bought them from a distributor.

Retailers, like Amazon's download store, buy their codes from the likes of Norton and other distributors, up front. As an example, they might buy Norton Internet Security 2014 1-PC for $15, sell it for $18.

The difference here - and there's a huge difference - is that if you buy a code from a retailer, they can't get a refund on this purchase or resell the code. So they'd lose the $15.

If you buy from Norton, the codes they sell they haven't bought. If you return a code from them, they can cancel it on their server, write it off. The likes of Amazon and other retailers, do not have this facility.

The big advantage of buying direct from Norton, Bitdefender, AVG, Kaspersky, is that you can get a refund, even for activated serial codes. As they own their codes.

The big disadvantage of buying a code direct, is often the license starts the minute you buy your software. An AVG code, bought direct, starts on purchase. When you buy a code from a retailer, the code does not start until you insert it in to the software. Retailers sell 'sales' codes.

Please understand the difference between buying from a retailer and direct from the developer.

Is there any detection test where WSA has done well? I have searched and can't find any, not even on youtube. WSA usually either does poorly or does not appear in the tests at all.

I don't like PCRag much, but FYI there's also a positive review on it.

@ shadek: The one you've linked is just an online banking test.

Bitdefender Sphere is ace. Three people can use it to separately activate as many devices as you like, as many times as you want!

If it's really an "extensive real-world test", why don't we just call Trusteer Rapport an AV/AM?

I'm not sure if you can access Amazon deals or not but apparently there is a big digital software deal going where you get $15 off downloads. A detailed thread is at this link on slickdeals http://slickdeals.net/f/6313302-ama...r-3-avg-anti-virus-2013-1-user-free-amp-more? There was some security software listed (AVG, Norton listed for $3-$5) earlier although those prices can change at times).

I just grabbed the Corel Aftershot Pro for PC free so the coupon is still good as of this posting.
