cant delete folder

on the start menu i have a picture folder i can't delete its empty and i cant open it. I think i cant delete it because i deleted the shortcut icon in the menu where you keep your music folder and picture folder and documents folder. How can i delete it

 

can you right click on it and select remove from list?

 

Windows is probably locking it so use a free program like "Unlocker" or "MoveOnBoot" to get rid of it.

 

i cant use unlocker it doesnt show when i right click it.

 

i tried creating another file named pictures and it wouldnt let me it said i can only merge it and when i merged it disappears. I cant rename it and if i click on properties its empty.

 

You need to browse for it through the unlocker gui by clicking the exe

 

very strange i did what you told me and it reappeared on my menu after using the unlocker gui i didnt have to use unlocker to remove it at that point

 

You may need to use RemoveOnBoot or similar so that it is deleted when windows doesn't have it's claws on it.

 

why is was a folder and it has been removed what would i look for to delete because it is gone now

 

Sorry but i'm not an expert.

I just did some maintenance on my laptop (uninstalled several programs, manual cleaning of the registry, etc) and had to use Unlocker on 2 folders from 2 different programs that were still left over after the uninstall and wouldn't delete Unlocker reported neither were locked and i selected unlocker to delete them. First folder took 3 tries but was successful and the other Unlocker deleted during re-boot. Excellent program
