Cannot access recoverd files

I had to reinstall my XP OS after which I recovered certain files from by .tib backup file into a new folder. It completes the recovery successfully with the full path tree (username and everything) from my original file location. However I cannot access the files. It says access denied. Any thoughts on how to access these files?

I had the same problem, here is what I did to resolve the issue under winxp pro sp2. Right click on the the directory in question and go to security.
You need to assign your user name read/write permissions and then go to advace and click on inherit from parent the permission entries and click replace permissions on all child objects. If you are using home, I do not believe you have the same options.
