    Hi,

I need to backup a disk with a non-standard disk-format that is not supported by the OS.

Can TrueImage do this, and will it allow me to backup and copy the data to another disk, even if that new disk is larger?

    Thanks,

    Graham

I would like to do this too.

I want to copy a microdrive which shows up as RAW onto a larger microdrive - sector by sector - is this possible with Acronis?

This would have to be done within Windows rather than DOS where I won't have access to the microdrives by way of PCMCIA.

    Hello GrahamJB and davidy,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/products/trueimage/).

Acronis True Image supports cloning and creating images of unrecognized file systems in sector-by-sector mode. The only limitation is that you won't be able to resize the partitions during the cloning process (i.e. they will be cloned as they are).

Please also note that Acronis True Image doesn't use DOS (actually, it does, but only several elements of it with the safe version of Acronis bootable rescue media). The full version of Acronis bootable rescue media is based on Linux.

    Thank you.

    Thank you for your reply.

Can True Image do sector copy in windows instead of requiring a boot up into Acronis' linux-based bootable rescue media. If it requires a boot-up, then will Acronis have access to USB card readers and PCMCIAs. I need to clone from one compact flash microdrive to another compact flash microdrive that is larger in capacity.

    Thank you in advance.

    Dear davidy,

Please note that Acronis True Image can work only with partitions so you need to create a partition on your flash microdrive and only then you will be able to clone it.

You should be able to perform a cloning procedure under Windows.

    Thank you.
