    can someone help me understand this? i use sbc yahoo! dsl, and when i went to the website (as i always do) to check my e-mail, this popped up. o_O

    It was likely the difference in url's that caused the pop-up/alert.
    You used "sbc.login.yahoo.com" (ISP portal to yahoo)
    ... and the actual site and certificate is for "login.yahoo.com"
    It is just alerting you to the difference and prompting you before you proceed.
