Can Someone Get Infected Just By Streaming?

    My friend wants to know but lets say if someone posted videos on their website from a malicious site that contains virus/spyware,can you still get infected from streaming from it from that person's own myspace page or something? if that person copied and pasted the codes to his/her myspace and has the video on there and if u click on the play button so you can just watch it from that person's page, can you still get infected from it or will it be safe?

    "Streaming" is kind of a general term, but I assume you are talking about streaming to a Flash player? Kind of like a Youtube thing? By some counts Adobe Flash is one of the top four attack vectors, so yes you can get infected that way. A lot would depend on the integrity and security of the site serving the content.
