boot disc

Hi there i made a rescue disc i think it was using acronis..when i put it in my cd rom it came up on boot up asking me if i wanted to make an image firstly do i pick both things or jus c drive to back up ?? i want to bascially make a disc so if my boot fails i can use it..how do i do this?? and i have no dvd drive just cd rewrite...it said something like 10gig wow...how do i back up 10gig? thanka maddawgz

 

Depends on whether there is a "system" partition,.
Some manufacturers have them.
Try just C drive and test restore to a new bare metal HDD.
If it does not boot you need to backup more partitions.

As for backup media try the folloing: external usb disk drive,
thats what I use with no problems thus far.
Other on this forum have had dramas with them but I have been lucky
so far. Local computer fair should have them at a realistic price.
