Booyah Basin - Silverton, Colorado
It is a very private ski park, only about 80 visitors a day and they planned it that way, to keep out the condos, stores and all that comes with it!
Snowboading, skiing in Winter, crazy cycling in the other three seasons, a little town that used to be a boom or bust silver town. Not for everyone- I know!!

This pic was just the 3rd of February 2005!

 

Silverton, most of the little ski towns look like this. The big ones, Aspen, Vail, WinterPark, BreckenRidge are crowded and pricey! You could wear your self out trying to get in a couple of turns!

These are all the Western Range places, they are not soo touristy.

 

Whoops, missed the town!! (Well, it is small! LOL!)

I like this picture, it looks like an old frontier town, which it is! duh! I mean without all the cars and modern paraphanalia!

Forgot to tell ya, you CAN get reservations at Silverton, just start about - NOW!

 

As some may remember, I have told about being a world traveler. I have been to some of the most famous ski resorts in the world (Colorado, Germany, Austria, and California). I have loved the lodges at each and every one. Have asked those who were with me to not break any bones, and told them I would be right here at the lodge when they were done.

Why not take the train from Denver to one of the resorts? Then you got the city and the mountains. They have a lounge on the train too.

 

Hey!! You could ride one of these ski Harleys?? That wouldn't be toooo taxing.

Dreaming, no, not at all, we are coming, and have decided on Whistler for a week in late February next year.

You are kidding right? Where are the Quad lifts, where are the restaurants and warm fire places while I eat my mid morning snack, hot lunch and afternoon snack? I don't see the hotel nearby with a hot tub...

 

I think Blackspear eventually wants to give this a go.

 

LMAO, no way, I stay attached to the earth, be it skiing or rock climbing, either way there is NO space between me and a piece of dirt

 

Ah, much better sights at the lodges I think (snow bunnies). I know they got better bars (bar maids). Ah to be young again! Ouch! That was the spouse smacking me.
