What is your favorite OTR client and why?

I am thinking to start some conversation with friends and I'd like to use a flexible platform.

    Thanks.

Being an Android user - Gibberbot. If I spent time at a desk, Pidgen with OTR plug-in. If you are super paranoid, you can run an XMPP server out of your house. OpenFire is free. Chaos Computer Club and DuckDuckGo both also have XMPP servers.

I'd also go for Pidgin. It supports Linux and Windows and a lot of IM protocols. And of course, it supports OTR :)

Note: I am a bit worried that there is no release in the last 7 month. That will not stop me using it, but it is something that you should keep in mind.

I saw also Xabber for Android.
Is there a client which can be used either on PC and Android?

XMPP is a protocol, you don't need to use the exact same software on every platform. Use Gibberbot and Pidgen.

I am using jitsi on the PC for OTR. I notice most here are using pidgin.

Does anyone have any hard data about functionality or security that might lead me to reconsider using jitsi?

I wish to avoid opening an "A" vs. "B" flame war here - I just want the facts. I am not emotionally invested in any software applications I may or may not use.

    Thanks.
