Backups to backup capsule on an external hard drive “greying out”

    Hi,

    I carry out cyclic daily differential backups to the backup capsule stored on an external hard drive.

    Everything usually goes ok for 4 -5 backups. Then all of the backups “grey out” & I can no longer access them, for example, to restore a file. There is plenty of available space within the capsule.

    Does anyone know what causes the backups to suddenly “grey- out” and restrict the functionality.
