My son needs an AV, and I have a couple of Avira licenses that I have not used. One is V 10, and the other 2012 IS. I also have Avast Pro that is several years old. Anyone know how long they will go back in time and still be accepted? Thanks, Jerry
AFAIK, the time limit that you have in order to activate the licence is 2 years from the moment you purchased it. If you do not activate it in 2 years time it will expire and you will no longer be able to use it. You may ask Avira Support in the following address: customerservice.us@avira.com or sent a PM to @LocoSec
I received a reply from Constantin, and he confirmed that 2 years is the expiration. However, he gave me a new code for one. The other, I had given him the incorrect code. I have provided the correct code for the 2nd unused license, and maybe he will give me a new one for that. But even if he does not, I am grateful for the one he gave me, and I was surprised at the speed he replied to me, and the gracious replacement. Kudos to Avira CS. Jerry
yup it sucks they do that now. i have a bunch still unused. i just hope they continue to swap the keys out for people.
They did not swap the other one I had. Oh well. I am glad I got one, however. I have not had that problem with Kaspersky, yet. I also have an Avast Pro that I think is a 2011. Regards, Jerry
Thanks, oliverjia That sounds about right. I hope they do not change. I buy most of my AVs of eBay. I have not had problems doing that, and save a big percentage. Regards, Jerry
hmm i was told by avira cust service that all someone had to do was send an email to them and they would exchange the lic key without issues. so now they are going back on that as well. very interesting...maybe ill start switching back to something else again. imo not cool. i have keys i bought from avira website directly and retail keys both unused
