Avast free and thunderbird

    Avast free 23.12.6094 (build 23.12.8700.813)
    was blocking Thunderbird, I couldn't send email. I allowed it. What does it mean the "ransomware shield will allow the selected app" , see screenshot. That was the only choice.

    Also I have turn off notifications but still when Iopen the GUI It says I have so many junk files or something about my ip being visible or similar pushing paid services.

    This is why when I install Avast, I deselect everything except the file shield
