    i'm still trying to figure out why You want the Avast to disable USN journal for other drives

    it's part of NTFS specification for over 10 years and not used just by Avast btw.

    only corruption i can imagine to happen on USN Journals is from some outdated very badly written NTFS driver (some older ones for DOS,nix)

    but i think NTFS-3g from http://www.tuxera.com/products/ntfs-open-source/
    should be fine

    same goes for Ubuntu default ...

    anyway it would be interesting to know
    1. what goes wrong exactly
    2. when (what OS or program does it)
    etc

    will aVast work with windows 7 Sp1?

    yes it is working fine here on windows 7 sp1 x64

    but 4 os that read and write on ntfs volumes with the USN Journals is not advised

    Avast build 989/992 runs fine on win7 32bit sp1.

    The upgrade Avast asked me after installation about WebRep, i denied.
