I've turned out Vista's outbound firewall, and I'm in the process of granting applications access to the internet.

Right now, I've granted the kernel process access for updates (nod32krn.exe). Is this one component all that's required to hit the internet? Manual updates seemed to work fine after this, but I want to make sure the automatic ones work as well!

    Thanks in advance!

Leave it for a day or so and pretty sure you will see a auto update roll on through.

    Cheers :D
