AtGuard closing down; no new version to be released

There will be no production version of AtGuard to be released.

I feel sad
But I understand it.

I hate to say it but we won't release a production version of AtGuard. There were too many issues with the beta release on XP. On top of that, Vista requires pretty much a full re-write. We don't have the resources to get it done right. So, unfortunately, we are folding up the tent.

I can't thank you enough for the words of encouragement and the feedback during the beta period.

There are a couple of posts from people that have asked how they can extend the 90-day period indefinitely / purchase the AtGuard 3.3.

Unfortunately, we are unable to give away AtGuard for free or provide beta releases / evaluation copies without a definite time limit. This isn't an AtGuard business decision but rather contractual restrictions from WRQ.

We could sell a license to AtGuard 3.3. But I am surprised that people would want to purchase a product that won't have on going support. Even if you have no intention of upgrading to Vista, this forum has documented several errors / flakiness with AtGuard on the current supported OS's. Who's to say that some future combination of apps/browser/etc won't wreak havoc on your system.

If enough people are interested in purchasing, I will consider creating a license-able version and getting a purchasing process in place.
