anyone tried "ProgramChecker"?

    i stumbled on ProgramChecker today:

    it looks interesting, but as i am kind of a noob, was wondering if there are more well-known programs or websites that do this better...

    Well, I'll tell you one thing, I would never install ActiveX controls from companies I don´t even know. And besides, I´m not sure if these kinda tools are really useful or not. I believe "Bit9" does about the same. http://www.bit9.com/index.php (ridiculously slow loading website)

    I agree, if it was some HIPS from a company I didn't know I would take the risk, but to take the risk for activex controls... No way man...

    That´s funny and you do got a point. But eventually you will have to start to trust someone to keep the bad guys out. And doing a bit of research also helps, didn´t you do the same?
