I voted "none" I have LUA and SRP which is enough for me. I do a scan with tools like Drweb Cureit now and then just for fun.

LUA is Limited User Account. As default you´re admin on windows machine (Except on Vista) As a limited user you (or the malware) has not full control of your computer unless you provide a password for tasks that could get you infected, making the majority of malware obselete. Add SRP (Software Restriction Policy, only in Pro versions of Windows sadly) and only the executables that you decide can run.

Surun is a nice app for those who find limited account tiresome (having to enter password when performing admin tasks). It lets you decide what applications or tasks wont show a confirmation prompt.
For Vista (32bit and 64bit) there is Vista User access control that offers a similar solution for the UAC prompts.

Don't forget that Avira has a lot of users partly because they offer a free version. Strategically it is a good idea to have a free version if you have to deal with market giants like Norton and McAffee.

I'm using Avast now on this. Don't see any difference between Avast and previously used paid for AV.
(I had forgotten I went Professional Avast a while back :thumb: )

Using AVG right now. It's been showing dramatic improvements nonstop, and it looks set to continue. Constant improvements to the scanning engine and sig databases, consistent performance, excellent support, and acquisitions like Ewido, Exploit Labs and Sana Security show that the company is financially robust and growing. Can't wait for the 8.5 release which will include Sana technology.

Avira - scan when writing only.

I use "Embedded VStream Antivirus" that is part of my Zone Alarm Check Point router. Plus OA+AV. Very nice combination.
Resource usage is none, browsing speed slowdown not noticeable.
All computers in network are protected.

I changed Avira from realtime scaner to on-demand scaner (I use them once per few weeks to scan my disk)

NOD32 and Avira Antivir are the best.
