Double-click the tray icon to open the Console and then click Scheduler.

Default should be two jobs, a Scan (unchecked) and an Update (checked), uncheck the Update job.

Although you can edit the existing jobs, in the past it worked better to just uncheck and create New jobs (you can have as many as you want).

One click of the left icon will bring up a Wizard to create and change a job. Name and discription can be whatever you want and then you get a choice of Scan or Update. Time of job starts with a choice of immediately, daily, weekly, interval or single and with interval, weekly or daily there are check-box's for "Start job while connecting to the internet" (this is to do an Update upon a DialUp connection) as well as "Repeat job if time has expired" (this is the option that will sometimes cause an auto update at startup for me). The last choice will be to select for the job to open in a full (640x480) window, or a minimized (on top) box in upper right corner, or invisible (not seen at all).

Note that after you have created a job (or even looked through 'edit' at an existing job) that it will not be in effect until after you have completed a manual "Start Update" that will restart AntiVir, or rebooted your system.
