I have an AIM related virus where my IM sends the message: "Yo!! New Camera piC". Clicking on the piC link downloads the virus. It doesn't really seem to do anything else, but it's annoying to be sending these messages to my friends.

My HijackThis log is as follows:

    Hi max42,

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winupdat] C:\WINDOWS\winupdat.exe
    O16 - DPF: {001EE746-A1F9-460E-80AD-269E088D6A01} (Infotl Control) - http://site.ebrary.com/support/plugins/ebraryRdr.cab
    O16 - DPF: {0E8D0700-75DF-11D3-8B4A-0008C7450C4A} (DjVuCtl Class) - http://www.lizardtech.com/plugins/en_US/DjVuControl.cab
    O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://207.188.7.150/23e3c24e7dea827efb00/netzip/RdxIE601.cab

Reboot after doing so, preferably into safe mode
and rename the following files from .exe to .bak:
C:\WINDOWS\winupdat.exe <= definitely not what it pretends to be. Please mail that file to the addy in my profile
C:\WINDOWS\System32\wltrysvc.exe <= Can't find anything about this one, check it's properties before renaming it

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Hi max42,

Glad we were able to help. :)
If you sent me winupdat.exe it got lost somewhere. I really would appreciate it, so it can be spread among developers.

    Regards,

    Pieter
