    slammer,I just figured it out and deleted the ones that needed to go :D should use my head more--will in future I hope :D

    it wasnt that bad, after 10 minutes it seemed to get better :eek:

    Hi snowbound,

    I think there's no argument that LWM is the expert on vBulletin (at least among us), so we'll wait for his "pronouncement". ;)

    I've seen many boards, using various kinds of software, where the opening post of a topic can't be deleted except by a mod because doing so takes out all the rest of the topic with it.

    You can delete your own recent posts under most circumstances, as mentioned above provided that it isn't the first post in a thread that has replies chained on to it. However, once the edit window expires on a post, it also prevents you from deleting it. I'm still considering how long the edit window should be. It's set to 5 days right now, but that may be too long.
