Does anyone know of a tool that works the same as FlashMute? Sadly enough it only works on Win XP. It's weird that such a feature isn't offered as a standard feature on Windows. http://download.cnet.com/FlashMute/3000-2381_4-10485539.html
OK, so nobody knows of a similar tool? I can't believe that not more people are annoyed by this. When I'm listening to music via Media Player Classic or Winamp, I sometimes watch videos on YouTube, but you don't want to click on the Mute button all of the time. Doesn't this problem sound familiar?
Users of Google Chrome can enable this flag: chrome://flags/#enable-tab-audio-muting Each tab can be muted individually. No external tool is needed. (and without using this flag, a tab can be muted with a rightclick on a tab + "Mute Tab") For Firefox this addon can be used: "Mute Tab" https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/mute-tab/ It has an option to auto-mute all new tabs.
@ Mood Thanks, I will check it out. But to clarify, I want to mute all audio in all browsers globally. That's exactly what FlashMute did, with only one click. I don't want to mute tabs individually.
