All eyes on Apple Monday, for a reinvention of iOS:

There will always be Apple fanboys and Apple haters, but both factions — and everyone in between — can sense that Apple is at a turning point. Like other companies that have achieved monster profits through innovation, and then pivoted to protect those profits, Apple appears a bit stalled. Sales are actually up, but excitement is down. And with no iPhone redesign this year, people are looking to something else, something even bigger, to bring the drool factor back to Apple products: A totally redesigned iOS.

On Monday, Apple executives will kick off the company's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco. The biggest news of the day will revolve around the seventh version of the iOS mobile operating system — plus an update to the increasingly second-fiddle OS X that powers Mac computers. There may be some hardware goodies (upgraded MacBook Air models are the current best guess) but this show is all about interface...........

Apple came out swinging at its detractors during its Worldwide Developers Conference keynote presentation in San Francisco, announcing a slew of new products including iOS 7, the next version of OS X, new MacBook Air notebooks, a "sneak peek" at the next-generation Mac Pro, and iTunes Radio – née iRadio.

"Can't innovate anymore, my ass," said Apple marketing headman Phil Schiller when introducing the new Mac Pro, which will be manufactured in the US and be available later this year.

Apple product lovers, your iPhone and iPad interfaces will look radically different this year.

At Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), held at the Moscone West Center in San Francisco, Apple CEO Tim Cook and other company executives unveiled new operating systems, iOS 7 for i-devices and OS X Mavericks for Macs, as well as a new version of its MacBook Air and a sneak peek at the next MacBook Pro.

Although Apple didn't announce any new iOS devices, the big redesign featuring an array of new software upgrades in the iOS 7 operating system will make existing devices seem new.

Apple mentioned the new privacy option in its WWDC keynote rundown of what’s new in iOS 7, and detailed in a press release that this fall the update to its mobile operating system includes, “Phone, FaceTime and Messages blocking to prevent specific people from being able to contact you.”..........

iOS 7 was announced today officially at WWDC 2013, and it brings a lot of visual changes to Apple’s mobile OS, plus a host of new features and functionality as well. The official release is still a few months off, but one enterprising developer, Brian Roizen, has posted a fairly extensive collection of screenshots from the new beta out today. The screens really just show a close-up view of what Apple demoed on stage, but they’re definitely worth a look if you want a better idea of the coming changes...........

Took a quick look at the screen shots link. IMO, there is not much to draw new users to the Apple fold. Maybe even not enough to keep tech hungry existing users.

I freely admin I'm an Android user. But I never discounted how innovative Jobs and his crew was when it came to killer/must have features/design. If you read Steve's bio, you know how important "insanely great" really meant to him. IMO, this is not very close...

You got that right. I feel like apple was onto something right when they first came up with iOS but over the years seeing that iOS is the same stagnant operating system it is time to ditch the boat. I am looking into getting a new windows phone this summer.
