after a long defrag i get 3 sector down

    hi
    i downloaded a trial version of perfectdisk 7 , and i did a long defrag of my 200 giga maxtor drive
    after the defrag the smart utility did scream and did notice that 3 sectors are gone (the value goes down of 3 values)

    what could been happen? can a defrag damage an hardisk?

    does somebody know why and what can damage hardisk sectors?

    Could be false alarm because of high temperature the hard disk reached. check errors and/or bad sectors with this free prog and see if it shows similar results download .zip file(no installer) / just unzip and double click
